Episode 3 Delayed

February 20th, 2008

Episode three has been delayed due to myself being busy with work and getting ready for my first week of Uni starting next week.

Among other things complications with the game that is going to star in the next episode, this one will take a bit more research and game play before I can give it a proper review on the show. (It’s not an FPS either thought I would mix things up a bit.)

I do plan on getting it out soon (ie within the next week just don’t want to rush things and ruin the episode.)

Hope you understand.

You’ve gotta expect delays and such when you’re first starting and experimenting. I’m sure you’ll eventually get to the stage where you’re pumping them out every few days right? :P

I guess it’s battle for wesnoth, since you say it’s not an fps and will require some research.

Nope it’s not Westnoth Eragon. Nice try though.

Alright, perhaps it’s eternal lands, the mana world, or planeshift?

Yeah! That game doesn’t run well for me. Everytime is start it I get a half-white screen. And it comes with barely any scenery, unless you downloads GB’s of data or buy the cdrom. MS flight simulator 2004 might not be open-source, but it runs better under wine than this game works natively :)

Cool, I hope you will provide a small intro on how to start flying, I never got the plane moving and I don’t like reading manuals ^^ btw. nexuiz 2.4 just got released..

The graphics are good, though I am a bit dissapointed I cant turn them all on.

Intel core 2 duo e6300 @ 1.86 GHZ

1 GB 533 MHZ RAM

512 MB GeForce 7 7500 LE

That should be enough to enable max detail on a game running on a modified quake 1 engine?

Secondly, the performance on higher setting/resolutions is a lot lower in FPS than in 2.3, according to a benchmark on the forums

Thirdly, some graphical effects like mortar trails an hagar trails only work offline (tested in instant action) and not online.

Lastly, the singleplayer campaign won’t work if you don’t install the community map pack first, which gives a bad impression to first time players.

It’s still a nice improvement over 2.3 though and Nexuiz remains one of my favourite shooters, although enemy territory quake wars is better (but that game was developed with a big budget offcourse). I hope Alienware will release a 2.4.3 or something soon to fix the performance issues

Isn’t episode three running a tiny bit late?

Yeah it is very very late busy with Uni, but don’t worry I have not abandoned the project in anyway.

Apologise.
