Interesting attempt. Tips:

1. You can hear your computer’s fans in the background. Don’t be afraid to do the audio far away from the computer or use a sound editor to reduce the specific noise.

2. Informative but a bit bland - try to add some humour, some props, some spoof.

3. Try to get a friend in on the act. Always more easier and more fun to do things with a bit of help.

Thanks for your tips Free Gamer, I appreciate them greatly. I realise that audio is a problem and I have a few ideas on how to combat this in future episodes.

Haha nice video. Found it through Free Gamer. Is the aspect ratio on the video funky? I went to the source site and it looked okay, maybe just the way you’re embedding it. Now you just have review my game then i’ll be famous =D

Yeah I need to correct that for future episodes. I think that the footage was resized to 4:3 when I recorded it in widescreen.

Ill have to have a look at irrlamb.

Its great seeing a vodcast about Linux free games

Few things:

Could you please encode the episodes as
AVI files with XVID video and MP3 or OGG sound please
or an OGM file with XviD video and OGG/MP3 sound

As WMV is proprietary and your show is about open source isnt it ?

If you record the video in WS/16:9/16:10 then please leave it in the
recorded format . Otherwise if you could setup the camera to
record in Full screen/4:3 that would be AWESOME

I dont know if you know about the Souretrunk podcast
its a podcast all about open source software , really good show
Maybe the two shows could pimp each other

Good luck with upcoming episodes

If you need a http site to host the files then try:
http://www.archive.org/ , megaupload , rapidshare

I will have to look into different editing programmes since I use Windows Movie Maker :P Or just re-encode them with ffmpeg (might be a good idea)

I know of the DB anime group that encodes XVID/MP3
files using Windows Movie Maker.
You should be able to load the uncompressed file
and re encode it as an AVI file with XVID video
and Mp3 sound.

Or, you could just use vlc and use it to encode your videos. Fast and well.
